Boom Lift & Scissor Lift Refresher Training (EWP)
Elevating work platform refresher training for construction and industrial environments, focused on safe operation of boom lifts, scissor lifts, and aerial work platforms.
This refresher program reinforces existing knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate elevating work platforms in real job site conditions.
Training is delivered in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations, supporting compliance with:
- Ontario Regulation 213/91 (Construction Projects)
- Section 147 (operator training requirement)
- Section 96(1) (competent worker requirement)
- Applicable provisions under Sections 144–149 (safe use and operation of elevating work platforms)
- Ontario Regulation 851 (Industrial Establishments), Section 51
Training is available at our Toronto training center and on-site across Ontario.

Training Overview
This refresher training is intended for operators with prior experience who require renewal and reinforcement of safe operating practices.
The program focuses on maintaining competency, improving awareness, and ensuring continued safe use of elevating work platforms under current job site conditions.

Responsibility and Safe Operation

This refresher reinforces the responsibility of the operator to ensure equipment is used safely at all times.
Practical Competency
Training includes both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical evaluation.
Participants must demonstrate:
- Safe operation of elevating work platforms
- Proper inspection and setup procedures
- Ability to identify hazards and apply corrective measures
This ensures continued alignment with Ontario’s requirement that workers remain competent when operating equipment.
