Working at Heights Training
(Fall Protection – Ontario)
Our Working at Heights Training program prepares workers for safe work at elevation in full compliance with Ontario’s regulatory requirements.
This training is delivered in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Regulation 213/91 (Construction Projects), and Ontario Regulation 297/13, meeting the mandatory requirement for Chief Prevention Officer (CPO)-approved Working at Heights training.
Training Overview
This program is required for workers on construction projects who are exposed to fall hazards and must use fall protection systems.
Participants gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience to safely work at heights and meet Ontario’s legal training requirements.
What You Will Learn
• Identification of fall hazards and risk factors
• Understanding the hierarchy of fall protection systems
• Proper use of fall arrest systems
• Proper use of travel restraint systems
• Proper use of fall restricting systems
• Inspection and maintenance of fall protection equipment
• Safe work practices for ladders, roofs, and elevated structures
• Emergency procedures and basic rescue awareness
Practical Competency
Training includes classroom instruction and hands-on practical evaluation.
Participants must demonstrate:
• Proper use of fall protection equipment
• Correct harness fitting and system setup
• Ability to identify hazards and apply control measures
This ensures workers complete approved Working at Heights training with both knowledge and practical ability.
Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive a CPO-approved Working at Heights certificate confirming compliance with:
• Ontario Regulation 213/91 (Construction Projects)
• Ontario Regulation 297/13 (Working at Heights Training Requirements)
• OHSA requirements for fall protection training
Certification is valid for 3 years, after which refresher training is required.
